Mr. Trent has been happily married to his wife for 35 years, and together they have raised five children. One of his sons proudly serves in the United States Navy.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and has more than 20 years of experience in public education. Mr. Trent began his career as a math teacher and went on to serve in several instructional and leadership roles, including testing coordinator at Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School. Throughout his career, he has focused on strong instructional practices, accurate assessment processes, and expanding meaningful academic opportunities for students.
In 2022, Mr. Trent was elected to the Brevard County School Board, motivated by the challenges facing public education and a commitment to providing steady, student‑focused leadership. His service on the board centers on maintaining high academic standards, strengthening school safety, and ensuring families remain engaged in their children’s educational experience.
Mr. Trent remains dedicated to supporting teachers with the resources they need, expanding meaningful learning opportunities, and helping maintain a strong, stable public school system that prepares every student for future success.
